S.Swaminathan (Swami) is a seasoned expert in data-driven marketing, with over 30 years of experience leveraging analytics and technology to drive marketing and customer engagement. As a Founder and Partner of Contraminds Labs, he is also the co-host of the Contraminds Podcast, a successful business podcast featuring people across the world, who are best minds in their profession and discover their journey towards what made craftsmen of their profession driving peak performance. Swami has also helped companies develop and leverage innovative data-driven strategies and insights that have helped brands and enterprises adapt and transform as leaders in the digital world.
Previously, Swami was the Co-Founder and CEO at Hansa Cequity, where he played a pivotal role in establishing the firm as one of India’s leading data-driven Martech and Analytics companies. Under his leadership, Hansa Cequity combined data, technology and design to optimize marketing performance and facilitate real-time customer insights and engagement. He is considered as a pioneer in bringing Analytics and Martech thinking and culture into companies in India.
Swami also in the past has worked with Contract Advertising, which is a part of The WPP Group—one of the world’s foremost creative transformation agencies. His extensive career reflects a deep commitment to integrating data analytics with marketing strategies to enhance customer experiences.
An engineer by training, Swami holds a management degree and is a Fellow of the Institute of Data & Marketing in London. He is an active member of the American Marketing Association, and the Customer Experience Professionals Association (CXPA) in the USA. His past involvement as a Regional Member of NASSCOM underscores his dedication to the tech industry’s growth in India.
Beyond his corporate roles, Swami is a board member, mentor and an angel investor in startups and is passionate about education, regularly teaching at top management schools and contributing articles to leading business publications. He also runs his own blog and newsletter, sharing his wealth of knowledge with a broader audience.
In his personal time, Sivaraman is a trained percussionist, a devoted fan of Carnatic music, and an avid cricket enthusiast, reflecting his diverse interests and commitment to both culture and sports.
